2019
In the new year, BUSSTOP has incorporated another member from the 60s, namely Finn Davidsen. Finn replaces Søren on bass and is known by most as the bass player in the former legendary Sønderborg group Doncarsters.
Former bass player, Søren Jensen, has now been appointed sound man in the group, as you had to admit that without a pair of ears below the stage you don't have a check on a ski! :-)
Finn joined in January 2019, and again it was at Skyttehuset on 22 February that BUSSTOP could present their new bassist.
A new tradition for the concerts is the distribution of BUSSTOP wineglass.
This takes place during the break between sets, and the lucky winners can then go home with 6 pieces. of the very nice wine glasses.
The band has purchased a new PA system for events such as the one in Skyttehuset, and together with the newly appointed sound man, the sound and the overall experience for both audience and orchestra have been significantly improved.
The board of the Citizens' Association has now decided that the "Intimate concert with Group BUSSTOP in Skyttehuset" will be a recurring event twice a year, on the first Friday in February and October.
On Friday, May 25, BUSSTOP was invited to play at Bobby's Donationsfest, where the profits from the Bobby Festival are distributed to selected causes each year.
The Festival Committee opened the doors to everyone for a free evening of fun at Sønderborghus with the beautiful Henriette Sonne opening after the donations and with subsequent dancing and fun with Group BUSSTOP.
The hall was packed, and the balcony had to be opened to make room for all the happy guests.
Skyttehuset's (now traditional) autumn concert with BUSSTOP on Friday, October 4, was sold out in less than 1 week, so they again chose to do an extra concert on Saturday, October 5, where the hall was filled with happy people.
Group BUSSTOP was also invited this year to play at the Bobby Festival at Sønderborghus on Saturday, 2 November 2019,
and the band went on the big stage (Theatrescenen) at 16:30 with a new program full of "new old" 60s tunes. Again, the dance floor and the hall were completely packed, and in connection with a competition leading up to the Festival, which was about which of the Busstops played the harmonica in the Beatles hit "I Should Have Known Better", 2 winners were drawn and each rewarded with a box of BUSSTOP wine glasses.
The winners were Johnny Auerbach & Ole Touborg, big congratulations to both....
